A subtle badge on every thumbnail shows which album(s) a photo belongs to — personal or shared. See where each image lives at a glance, without opening it.

Hover over a photo to see its original file name — handy to check or find a specific shot.

Give your images a clear name ("Lea's birthday") instead of an unreadable IMG_2043, and find it easily with the search field.

Desktop apps we build ourselves
Unlike most photo libraries, Fotomania has its own native macOS and Windows apps: your photos are directly accessible from your computer, like a folder.
Albums that look like you
A colour, a cover photo, a header banner at the top of the album and how it's framed: every album takes on the look you give it. The colour stays personal — in a shared album, everyone organises their own way without imposing it on anyone else.
A calendar of your events — exclusive to Fotomania
Name your moments and place them on a calendar: “Summer holiday” from 10 July to 10 August, “Claire's wedding” on the 5th. You give the dates, your photos file themselves — including the ones you import later. A timeline of the whole year shows what you lived through at a glance. It differs from an album: an album is a list of photos, an event is a slice of time. Available on the web and in the mobile app.
Your family tree — a Fotomania exclusive
Build your family tree and link your photos to a person, a couple or a whole family: click your grandmother and find every photo of her. Face recognition automatically suggests the photos of each ancestor, and your tree exports to the standard GEDCOM format. No other photo library offers this. Available on the web and in the mobile app.
A camera inside the app
Take the picture from Fotomania: a proper viewfinder — photo or video, self-timer, framing grid, exposure, zoom — saved to your phone's own library straight away, then sent on without waiting for the next backup. And if you are inside an album when you press the shutter, the photo goes into it directly: no sorting after the fact.
Copies and bursts, spotted for you
A small badge on a thumbnail: that photo exists in several copies. A coloured dot: those photos were taken in a row — a burst, so keep the best one. Two quiet signals, placed right in the grid, on computer and on mobile alike. That is where sorting thousands of photos begins.
A locked folder, for what is nobody's business but yours
Identity papers, bank documents, photos you would rather not have scroll past while showing someone your phone: put them in the locked folder. They leave the timeline, the albums, search and memories — no longer visible anywhere else. It takes your code to open, or your fingerprint on mobile. And they stay backed up like the rest, just out of sight.
Your photos over time, at a glance
In “Explore”, the Dates section draws your library as a map: each year takes up an area proportional to how many photos it holds. The summer you photographed everything jumps right out. One click opens the year month by month, another takes you straight to that period. On the web for now.
